Bridle Path Pool Party- Saturday August 22nd @ 3:00 pm
Posted on Jun 27th, 2026 Comments (0)
As in the past, there will be games and prizes for the winners. Some of the games will be played in the water, but many are planned for the grassy area outside the pool, so even if you don’t like the water, you can come and participate. You don’t even have to wear a bathing suit!
Sign-up for games will take place starting the week before and continue until that day, so don’t worry if you can’t decide what you want to do. Come, have fun and cheer on your neighbors as we compete in these party activities.
The event is as usual a BYOB event, please no glass containers near the pool.
Sign up in the binder so we have an idea of how many will attend, and please submit your $20/pp in the box in the kitchen closet by August 15th . Oh, and if it rains on Saturday, we will have it on Sunday the 23rd.
See You There!
Come and party with your neighbors and friends at the pool and environs on August 22nd. This year we are planning a hamburger BBQ with all the fixings. Hotdogs will also be served, and chicken tenders. For those of you who prefer plant-based options we plan to have some available as well. The menu includes green salad, black bean corn salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw. And of course, ice cream for dessert.

Please let us know when in August you think an elementary age/toddler Children’s story time might be fun. You can contact the LIBRARY COMMITTEE at bplibrary1600@gmail.com . Knowing when younger children are around will help with our planning. Thank you!
We are currently looking for graphic novels for our younger visitors. Any donations are appreciated and may be left in the basket in the Library.
Hoping you get to stop in the Library and take a peek at the creative Chorus display and had the opportunity to listen to the musical talents of our residents in their Disney event! Many thanks for the hot dogs and fun events! How awesome, we even had a Cajun Band!!
We had a question on our website about purchasing large print books, but we do not purchase books in our community library. We work on donations only. If anyone has some large print books they would like to donate, they will be welcome.
We still have Fall and Winter openings for the rotating display and are looking for fun ideas!
Reading for us older folks is so important. According to a study at Emory University published in Brain Connectivity, reading has been found to enhance connectivity in the brain, which in turn improves brain function.

August Display: The Afternoon Book Club is excited to experiment and open a small Children’s section (on those lower shelves that no one accesses). We are planning some surprises for those August babysitting grandparents (when the pool is not open for children).

Pool Umbrellas - What to Know!
Posted on Jun 27th, 2026 Comments (0)
Pool umbrellas are vulnerable to heavy winds so we must take care while using them. We have already lost one umbrella to the wind when someone left the pool without closing it. To avoid any more umbrellas breaking, please open umbrellas all the way.

And when you are leaving the pool, please make sure the umbrella is closed and use the string to tie and secure it closed.
